With over 20 years of experience, Becerra Diaz has shared his knowledge in a significant number of conferences and lectures given all over the world, where he explains the importance of combining the art of design, and the functionality of a beautiful smile.
Currently, Becerra Diaz is the director of the extended education program dubbed at The New York University, in dental aesthetics in Colombia, working as a speaker and professor. He works with teams of plastic surgeons all over the world, with the mouth as the main axis in any facial-change procedure.
In the mean time, spends his time mixing his time with his other passion: Television. For the past 2 years, he has been the official dentist in the Colombian version of “Extreme Make Over”, originally of ABC in the United States, and produced in its Colombian version by RCN. He is also the director and host of the TV show “Soles y Vientos”, which airs in Canal Uno.
Majored in Dentistry from the Colegio Odontológico Colombiano, and specialized in the Theory of Color, Aesthetics and Oral Rehabilitation from The New York University, Marlon Becerra Diaz is considered to be the best dentist in the country.
As a pioneer in his field, he has developed techniques and theories about color management in dental aesthetics, he was the first to use laser in dental cosmetics in Latin America, after having been chosen to be trained in its use in Tel-aviv.
As the Director of Unidad de Estética Dental, he leads over 180 high-level specialists, with a new view towards oral health and an ethical commitment to his patients. He has managed to position his company as a pioneer in aesthetic and oral treatments in Colombia.
Leading actors, celebrities, beauty queens in national and international pageants (13 Miss Colombia winners), and special appearances in TV shows, are all recognitions and acknowledgements of the significant aesthetic work whereby he has taken dentistry and made it into a priority need for hundreds of patients both in Colombia and abroad.
“To me, aesthetics are the intuitive capability that allows us to recognize what is beautiful. It is a sense you either have or you don’t. It is being able to mold elements into symmetry, harmony, proportion.
It is my craft. However, experience has shown me that true beauty is only possible if it goes along with an inner glow. There is no exterior without interior.
There is nothing more fulfilling for me, than seeing my patients smile on the outside. But the true meaning of my job is to make them smile inside. That is my passion."
